A downloadable game

The concept 🏍️

The Outrunner was a temporary real-life instalation made during the 09/24 proto-Eniarof (a revisited funfair) at the CNAM Enjmin. This page serves as a showcase despite the project no longer being playable.
It was a cooperative driving/shooting game simulating an intense motorbike chase

How to play ?

The Outrunner took the form of a custom real-size paperboard motorbike (where two players could sit on it) placed between two giant screens.
-The front player (the pilot) was tasked with manoeuvering the motorbike using a retro joystick placed near the handlebars, going left or right to dodge obstacles coming from the front screen. He was also tasked to select on which screen the other player, the passenger, was able to shoot on, (by pushing the stick forward for the front screen or backward for the back screen).
-The second player was the passenger, armed with a paperboard custom gun (with a wiimote inside) he had to shoot enemies coming from both the front and back screen, forcing him to stay aware and physicaly turn frequently. Being only able to shoot on the screen that was selected by the pilot good communication was required to progress.
Enemies had different movements patterns but they were all slowy attempting to reach the players, doing damage on contact.

The game featured an infinite single level, the goal was to survive for as long as possible while making the best score.
